Stillwater adults will have the opportunity to join a rock band, play carnival games and participate in a boxing match Tuesday night at Stillwater Public Library. The library is hosting a Nintendo Wii night for adults to gather and play various video games. The library has been hosting a Wii game night for teenagers for more than a year, but adults started inquiring about a night for them, said Stacy Delano, reference librarian.

She said the library might continue it on a regular basis, depending on the amount of support the event receives. “It just depends on how many adults want to give it a try,” she said. “We’re really hoping that the people who don’t have it, or the people that aren’t interested in video games will come out and see how fun they are.” Dance Dance Revolution, Rock Band, Smash Brothers, Wii Sports and a carnival game will be among the available games, Delano said.

Selling Hot 01/19/2009

Did Nintendo save Christmas? With NPD numbers soon to be revealed on the crucial December 2008 sales month, analyst Jesse Divnich says Nintendo carried the bulk of the expected 14 percent year-over-year holiday growth in software sales on its shoulders.

"Nintendo Wii and DS software unit and dollar sales will account for over 50 percent of all games sold in December," Divnich says. "Without these sales, the industry would have likely felt the full wrath of the recession. We believe their simple-to-use design, cheaper and wider variety of software titles, and the 'hot effect' [already] in place on both systems all played a role in driving both the Wii and the DS to the top of their segments," says Divnich. "Simply put, Nintendo saved Christmas."

The most exciting report that we got was a quarter of population owned a Wii while other quarter said they intend to buy Wii. This means that still a quarter of population is left for the company to fulfill with Wii. If you check online sites you will find Wii available but when you try to buy one it suddenly gets out of stock. The best place to buy Wii is offline through advertisements or may be discount stores. Auction sites have the best sales. However reports say something different to what the scenario is. Analysts say that the shortage of Wii systems caused there to be drop in the sales. They believe if there were enough systems then the company could have sell double to what they sold last year.

The Nintendo Wii game system is the hottest game system around and holidays were also tight as Nintendo said it is struggling to meet the demands. The invention and introduction of the Wii has taken the video game industry to the heights. It has been two years still the craze remains the same when we go to buy Wii. Watching your kids play video games for hours can be frustrating. You try to limit their time towards the games still it is uncontrollable. At least the Nintendo Wii saves you from headache of removing your kid from couch and prevents him from getting lethargic.

Every family who got a Wii encourages their neighbors to buy Wii as it is one game that gives an opportunity to your kid to play a game that they can get involved in and use more than just their fingers and hands to play. When a child is left with indoor games for entertainment then it is feasible to buy Wii to combine exercise with the entertainment media.

When Nintendo’s Wii was introduced in 2006 Christmas, the executives of the video game industry didn’t give it that importance. However, after three Christmases, all doubts have been cleared as Wii has been firmly established in the market. The Wii has been still the leading choice of toy givers. The Wii has been embraced globally in the same way when the Apple Inc. introduced iPod back in 2001. Just like the iPod changed the way people listened to music and watch movies, in the same manner the Wii has also changed the way people view family game night.

The Wii’s innovative controller which can move according to the moves of the player’s natural movement appeals more effectively then the hardcore buttons. Thus, after wearing the crown of a successful gift for three Christmas seasons, the Wii retailers depend mostly on it to make their sale best in the holiday season.

When we consider cooking and video games together, we find similarities between the two of them. They both require a mix of physical and mental cleverness and skill. Both require a lot of practice to be a perfectionist. On the contrary, video-game addicts do not survive on Red Bull and Cheetos. So, to get a good meal, our few video game industry’s prominent publishers have been encouraging on having good meals.

Nintendo has come up with a digital cookbook titled “Personal Trainer: Cooking”. It is available for $19.99. This cookbook has 245 recipes that could be sorted out by ingredient, calorie count, preparation time or even country of origin. Crescendo’s Fragile has got its new look through flashlight. The spooky light gives a look to the ruined environments as if they belong to some other world. This has given tri-Crescendo a chance to add some game play integration to this flashlight thing. Seto has also added two more portable lights apart from the normal flashlights. There is a high-power flashlight which illuminates to great distances through which hidden enemies could be found out. Even the hidden messages on the wall could be revealed by a “strange” green light.
