Hey guys…you must heard of Vivendi’s marketing campaigns. They always come up with some innovating ideas to market their games. They did some unique thing for their upcoming game “Ghostbusters”.

I know you must be eager to know what they done….Well they took out Ecto-1, one of the transportation vehicle of Ghostbuster to the streets with people sitting on the top of the car and beating the drums. Luckily few of the fans took the pictures and sent us. These superb pictures really gave us an idea on the features of the car both from inside and outside.

In Japan you will find quite a lot of unusual things. You will find games even in the hotel rooms. Wondering how did each room had a game? The technique was simple. You could play video games by inserting coins in the video game box. Just imagine! You should be prepared to shelve out 100 JPY i.e $1 USD for about 10-15 minutes play.

Now suppose you wanted to play with a Famicon NES, and then probably who should be prepared to shell out $2 or $3 to enjoy it thoroughly. Out of the various games, playing with the Super Famicon was quite expensive. For 5 minutes you need to shelve out 1$.

There's a video clip circulating on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQBek30tR54) that shows the lengths that some will go to use the Wii for their own agendas.  Car dealership Hamilton Nissan has a clip in which they make a simple proposition to potential customers, but one can see how it could work.  If you can knock it out the park on their Wii, they'll drop the price of a car.

For every homer hit in Home Run Derby, the customer has $100 dropped off the sticker price of a new ride.  You get 10 pitches for a possible total savings of $1,000.  The catch is that you have to test drive a new Nissan or Hyundai.  Isn't $1,000 half the price of one of those?  Kidding.

There's something to be said about a game that fails to catch any kind of attention in Japan.  The country is arguably the video game capitol of the world.  They even still have arcades!  Nonetheless, Baroque, a new title from Rising Star, is making its way to Europe now.

Baroque looks like an interesting title, and one can only hope that it can bounce back from the incredible flop it had in the land of the rising sun.  So if you're in Europe and you want to show japanese fans that they don't know everything, pic up Baroque.  It hits stores on June 27th.

You know what the Wii is truly missing?  Scary games.  With all of the exercise games and sports titles, the wierdo lovable aliens and colorful plumbers, the horror genre has to wait at the back of the line for attention.  Looks like the wait will be getting a little longer.

Atari's fantastic title, Alone in the Dark, isn't coming to stores in May, as previously planned.  The shocker doesn't make its way to the U.S. until June 24th, with Europe receiving it four days earlier.  Surprise, surprise.  At least Atari's supposed to be sharpening up the game during the delay, so hopefully the gamers benefit in the end.

You'd think that it'd be kinda simple to design the Wii Wheel for Mario Kart Wii.  Just make a mold of  a small racing wheel, use some lightweight plastic, and you're ready to roll.  Not in the least, according to Kenichiro Ashida, the Wii Wheel's lead designer.

Ashida says that the Wii Wheel went through roughly 30 different incarnations on the way to the commerical model.  Weight was an important issue, but that had to be balanced with concerns for the durability of the wheel.  The discussions in designing the Wii Wheel even covered whether it should be rectangular or circular.  That's a big deal for such a little wheel.

I can count on both hands how many games actually deserve there own magazine.  Apparently, GamerZines and Konami believe that Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is one of those games.  They've launched an entire online mag to the Wii game.  I kinda figure that if you're going to go through the trouble of creating a whole online magazine to advertise your game, you should be sure to add some user-friendly content.

One of the neat tricks of publishing an online magazine is that it can be fully multimedia.  In addition to promotional material throughout, the PES Wii zine has trivia quizes, an interview with the game's producer, and video clips of the game in action.  Soccer and the Internet - the next Chocolate and Peanut Butter.

One of the major concerns in the ongoing saga involving the British Board of Film Classifications (BBFC) and the Rockstar Games title Manhunt 2 has been the BBFC's role in the the situation.  There have been a number of people calling for the BBFC to leave game ratings alone.  And everyone in Britain has been awaiting the word from popular psychologist Dr. Tanya Byron.

Currently, the BBFC's job is to only address games that are alleged to have intense content such as violence or sex.  Dr. Byron is suggesting that the BBFC handle virually all of the country's game rating decisions.  She has also brought up a 12+ rating on games, and endorses the BBFC and PEGI (industry sponsored) systems working in conjunction.  Wonder how many saw this coming?
